Snowdays with some 90 pointers: These 2011 Oregon pinots are really starting to grow on me (underrated vintage?). Light but plush and flavorful with pure cherry fruit and sophisticated complementary notes of clove, tea leaf and walnut.

Really lovely, drinking well now. Shows the best of 2011. Some funkiness underlying cherry fruit. Light body, high acid. I could drink this every night.

A bit tart (cherries) with sharp acidity and tannic. Feels a touch hot. Showing some green stem and peppery notes as well. This needs time (i hope). I was expecting a bit more of finesse from this wine.

Medium ruby, roast beef on the nose. Dry, lightly tart mineral notes, roast beef, medium body. Acid forward with restrained fruit, tart cherries and light tannins. This is good stuff.

This opened up very nicely after about an hour in decanter. Very well made and balanced wine that hit all the right notes. Solid wine that will benefit from another 2 or so years of aging.
