First bottle from this (mixed-two bottles of Old Vine snuck in) case. Ruby color, but cloudy. Just the hint of clear meniscus. Red fruit - maybe pomegranate with a touch of spice. Good acidity keeping things fresh. Medium-long finish. Not a good as the 2014 Withers (Sonoma Coast) English Hill from last night—although it’s sacrilege to say it. This one paired with cold leg of roast pheasant; not bad, but not inspired pairing, reminding me that this was slightly less savory than the Withers: a touch more ripe fruit character, well controlled by the acidity.

Fantastic nose on this medium intensity ruby wine. Notes of bright cherries and strawberries, spun sugar, forrest floor, pine needles, and cherry cola on the finish. Mid weight, m Tannins and m+ acid. The finish on this wine is m. Alcohol is well integrated and m+. The tannins make a home in my cheeks, and longer for a while.

PNP. Cloudy dark magenta color. Red fruit, lightly aromatic, same on the palate, raspberry, strawberry. Youthful, with a earthy, cinnamon and brown sugar undertone. Medium body, tannins and acidity. Easy and enjoyable. I’d recommend 30-60 minute decant at this stage.

Ruby color and cloudy again. Pomegranate and spice still seems the right description. Certainly not improving from last year.
