Served to a big ground from 2 very consistent 3L. Nothing can improve the feel a wine adds to a dinner faster than being served from such a big bottle. A nice surprise actually , well round, medium bodied, soft rich feel and well assimilated oak. On the savoury side of things , definitely in secondary land but still very much with the energy we liked. A very solid 90-91 but definitely the 3.0L bottles played their part on the appreciation too.

Bought two bottles on auction recently for 22 Euro each. This wine is medium bodied, smooth, fruit diven and hedonistic. It is almost as good as my present everyday house wine Fleur Cardinale 2012 which is no longer available in Germany because I bought every bottle I could get. The Fombrauge is at its peak right now and will not get better. Drink!

This is an opulent, deep, red fruit driven wine that is really coming into its own at this point. It is rich, round, and well balanced. The vanilla and oakiness other reviewers refer to in earlier reviews is gone and has mellowed into a more balanced flavor profile. This is a sophisticated wine that evolved as we drank it over three days. It has age left on it - we wish we had another bottle to drink in a couple years to compare.Amazing QPR.

Deep dark impenetrable reddish black color with a rich nose of sweet and juicy fruits, vanilla oak, nail polish dried herbs, with hints of leather and tobacco. The palate is dense, medium full-bodied, fruit-driven with amounts of acidity and tannins yet smooth and bursting with deliciousness. This wine is primarily driven by sweet candied red and black fruits such as ripe cherries, plums, blueberries, black currants, with a good amount of creamy vanilla, followed by secondary and tertiary layers of flavors including: cedar, sage, thyme, lavender, cardamom, and a hint of white pepper, bitter sweet chocolate, tobacco leaf and old leather. This St. Emilion is a very big, bold, and opulently rich wine, something like what one would expect from the New World.
