  • 50% gasoline, 50% classic riesling fruit on the nose. Really clean, fresh and delicious tropical, stone and green apple fruit, dense and sweeter than i expected, but without being weighty/cloying at all- pretty great feat as it doesn't have as much acid as you would normally need to achieve that kind of balance but for some reason it still comes together really really well. Long finish. Excellent value for $17

  • 7,5% alcohol.

Luminous yet pale lime green color. Somewhat restrained and closed nose with archetypal Mosel Riesling aromas of steely and slatey minerality, ripe citrus fruits, some petrol character and a hint of developed waxy character. The wine is lively, medium-bodied and medium-sweet on the palate with juicy but somewhat straightforward flavors of ripe citrus fruits, freshly pressed apple juice and some steely minerality. Overall the wine feels pretty fresh with its high acidity, but the fruit department is lacking some intensity. The finish is fresh and lively but a bit thin with medium-long medium-sweet flavors of lemon marmalade, apple juice concentrate and some steeliness.

An enjoyable sweeter-end Riesling, which, however, suffers from lack of intensity and complexity. The wine is fresh and the acidity keeps the sweetness nicely in check, but the flavors lack intensity and the wine comes across as rather straightforward and a bit thin. I suspect that the wine will more likely only fade out than develop into something more distinctive with age. Feels a bit expensive at 14,90€, despite the age of the wine.

  • Last bottle -had this with SungYeun Chun and Wilson in NYC. Golden yellow. Less expressive in nose and palate than last time. Still with nice apples with some peaches braced by nice acids. Missing some of the electricity and minerality of the last bottle. Not sure if this was travel shock. Still a nice wine.

  • Justin whipped this out. Never had a Mullen Pradikat before, but I'm ready, and there is no finer vineyard than the Rosenberg (of course :p ). Rosemary, soap - herby, apple fruit and spice, creamy, flowers, cane sugar. Creamy flowers on the palate with peach, apple - nice mouthfeel, good intensity, minerals, grapefruit? Powdered stone - chalk, bright citric acid and flowers and minerals on the finish. This really grew on me - very different and delicious. Nose - 5-5.5/6, Palate - 5-5.5/6, Finish - 5-5.5/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1.5/2 = 16.5-18

  • From memory: There must have been a second fermentation in bottle. Audible swish sound when tong of Ah-so entered. Poured as a sparkling wine. Still with rich fruit and nice acids but muted. Not so much minerality. More muted on second day but still with bubbles. FLAWED.
