Great California cab at a good price point. Big, bold, dark. Over extracted and over oaked? Probably but the wine has the structure to carry it and delivers an enjoyable experience. Drank alongside the 2010 Cab Reserve and I preferred the non-reserve bottle quite a bit more.

A great bottle of cab that represents Paso quite well. Less intense than the Napa region. More intense and you can somehow taste the vines struggling to produce the grapes. Both blue and red fruit, cola, cedar, pine, dried leaves. Perhaps some floral notes on the nose.

Great potential for this wine. Blue fruit dominated with firm tannins that lead to a sweet, lingering finish. There is a dense core that feels very tight to me in the middle of this wine. When (if?) it smooth's out and develops some secondary flavors then it will be an exceptional wine. Hold these for a few years.
