A little lightness on the rim. Sweet fruit nose. Balanced palate of blueberry, green pepper, and herbs. A big wine, but more refined than a lot of the northern California cabs. Medium finish, fine tannins. Feels peaked, but should still drink well for a couple years at least.

Wow. Second bottle after the one I opened on the 4th of July and didn't have time to really "geek out". Phenomenal nose - bold, sweet ripe cherries and currants. Acid is perfect - constant throughout the sip, helping gather the entire taste up through the nose. Finish is lingering. Great wine to drink now.

Drank at a friends' home for July 4th, so not too much time to really sit down and study - busy enjoying the festivities. Fruit forward and meaty. Lots of berry/cherry. Nice tannic structure, with the alcohol and overall astringency holding it all together. Extremely enjoyable; looking forward the the second bottle - but hopefully with some low key time to really appreciate it.

Notes after following for four hours open. Very dark ruby color, almost opaque with a small dash of sediment. Profound nose of violets and berries, a little licorice, white pepper, oak, and zippy alcohol. High-powered fruit driven palate with deep blackberry kirsch and cherry pie, moderate oak notes and gentle tannins. Not really that firm on acidity as the typical Paso ripeness kind of dictates the profile. Long, sweet, crowd-pleasing finish. This should benefit from another year or two of cellar time. 5+12+16+7= 90

In the California Cab style with lots of oak, big fruit, lots of structure. Red fruit nose. Red and blue fruit palate with cola notes. Medium-long finish with firm tannin. A good wine.
