I thought this wine was great right out of the bottle. the perfume was aromatic as I expected. I was a bit disappointed in the depth of the wine as the longer it was open, the less body was there. I think this is another that is not destined for additional aging. It is drinking really well right now.

Absolutely delicious. Confirms my belief that the best wines from cool, dry years such as 2011 are from the mountain vineyards. May be the best Napa cabernet I've had from the 2011 vintage. And might be the most "TRB" of the Output wines I've had, as strange as it sounds. Many Outpost wines I've had tend to be less extroverted than Schrader or R-M. But this is plush and velvety, rounded tannins, tons of delicious blueberry fruit that you would expect from TRB. Most definitely a crowd-pleasing style.
Drank tonight. Sat in decanter and drank over 3 hrs. Delicious, and restrained style. Grateful ‘11 wasn’t warm. Tannins balanced. Fruit generous but not over the top. A little heat in the nose but not in the mouth.

Well made wine in a tough vintage. Good news is there wasn’t any of the green streak present in many 11’s and the wine has nice structure and balance. The wine lacked a bit in the midpalate but had a long finish. It seems to be at peak but will go well for years.

3 Terrific Rose Champagnes, 5 Great Cabernets, and a Fabulous Dessert Wine. (Yan's China Bistro, Walnut Creek, Ca.): Nose of blackberry, black cherry, raspberry, and cassis with hints of wet slate, wet shale, sage and wet briary earth, more of the same on the palate, big body, mouth filling fruit, mouth coating fruit, briary elegant, very tasty, delicious, at its peak-time to enjoy is now, and a long, rich, flavorful finish and lovely aftertaste. Tied #2 of 5 today. Photo Uploaded.
