Aged to perfection - perhaps the best older bottle I've tasted other than a 75 Ridge Petite Sirah. Classic aged Cali Cab nose of cedar and mild eucalyptus, blends in some chocolate, anise and black licorice as it sits in the glass. Still packed with fruit for an old wine with tannin to boot. Stored immaculately, cork came out in one piece.

Winebid purchase. Perfect fill and cork. Quite a bit of sediment.
Color: Light garnet to brick rim.
Nose: Smokey, dusty, earthy. Some dried flowers and faint red fruits.
Palate: Lean, tart and austere. Some sour cherry notes but fruit is pretty much gone... Not too bad with lamb but not pleasant by itself.

This wine was still holding on...had some dusty notes with rust, earth, a bit of spice, and subdued blackberry notes. Loved having something this old!

Funky nose, brett; oxidizing. Flawed or well over the hill.
