So, my dishwasher made my wine glasses funny (yes, I use my dishwasher for my wine glasses, so sue me) and I thought this wine was off. Then I changed stemware to a tumbler and it was singing. The sauvignon high (herbal/gooseberry) notes are a really thoughtful descant.

Popped and poured with grilled tilapia. Aroma is melon, and the taste is consistent as well. Had a bit more bite & acidity to it like lemon when it was colder, but once it warmed up some it was more honeydew.

From memory. Always a favorite wine of mine. One of the best white blends in the US. Not saccharine at all, and even less sweet this year than last (which is interesting, because this is a much riper vintage). Awesome label by comic artist (and illustrator of RuPaul's Drag Race queens). Blend of "Pinot Gris 59%, Chardonnay 11%, Pinot Blanc 11%, Gewurztraminer 7%, Riesling 5%, Traminette 5%, Sauvignon Blanc 2%." The aromatics of the floral grapes are evident but not overwhelming, and the pinots and chardonnay give the wine such verve and tension and body. The sauvignon is evident in the aroma–a bit herbal in a great way that balances things out. In indefinable wine this year, so refreshing and tense, yet a bit less forward. Much better on day 2.

Crap. I drank one of these and have no memory of it. It was probably THAT delicious.
