2010 Bruno Rocca Barbaresco side-by-side: 3hr decant, side-by-side with the Bruno Rocca 2010 Rabaja. Starts subdued but the fascinating bouquet opens up and changes in the glass over the course of a long Italian dinner at A16. At times sour fruit, stone fruit, violet, graphite, and well water, but always pretty, high, and somewhat tight. Less expansive and less fruit-driven but more beguiling than the Rabaja. This may be better with another year or two 2024-2028.

Barolo & Barbaresco $50 Double Blind (Bin 75 Alpharetta, GA): Dull see through ruby core with large light red rim; elegant nose, cinnamon, very floral, sweet wood, cherry liqueur, Burgundian; very sour cherry, griottes, here the acid is more searing and youthful than the tannin, very coiled in potential, orange oil, elegant but muscular, plummy; needs time; was on 2010 but in Barolo.

Bruno Rocca Barbaresco Masterclass - A matter of taste (Singapore): Medium garnet. Very deep and aromatic nose of thyme, red fruit, leather and even some tangerine scents, really complex. On the palate still quite astringent but ripe. This one needs time till 2018 for sure but will be great. Elegance and aromatic complexity is the hallmark of this producer.

Very dry, almost dusty. Still, decent complexity and fruit. Dark berries, chocolate. Good to dronk now.

Flot vin med smag af røde kirsebær og vanilje og peber - Rå og alligevel flot afrundet.
