Fully mature. Deep golden, almost amber-hued. Nose had toasty caramel notes, with some baking spice and grilled lemon tones as well. The texture was almost viscous, but there was enough underlying acidity to keep it from being cloying. The rounded citrus flavors lasted through the 30-45 second finish. Drink up!

I'm probably being a bit harsh, I wasn't exactly in the mood for california chardonnay. Was hoping this would be a bit more mineral driven but came out with that typical california buttered chardonnay note that can be a basic and cloying. I usually like aged kistler as they can become a poor-man montrachet occasionally but this was like a parker style chard that lacked acid for my taste.
