Not the strongest nose - but still a great wine - our first 2008 - the fruit is a lot of cherries and cranberries - also hints of orange peels. We are getting a lot of leather, menthol and some licorice. A very nice long aftertaste - medium+ tannins and medium acidity - but both are well integrated. This is a well made wine - the wine is drinking well but still some years to come - we will start with 94. (0 views)

deep coloured, powerful brunello as it befits their southern location. even in a lighter vintage this packs a punch. coffee, chocolate, dark fruit. would score higher if better balance.

I am starting at 93 - a really nice powerfull wine - where the fruit is dark cherries and plum a lot of spices - some chocolate - medium +tannins and medium acidity - very good integration - and a long and still rather powerfull aftertaste - I think there is more to come - a very complex wine - but also clearly an interesting wine.

Brunello di Montalcino: Pepato, ventata di banco di erbe aromatiche al mercato, timo, sangue/terra/frutto/sangiovese, anice e sambuco, scheletrico. Ossuto ma forte, preciso il tannino, lungo ma al momento manca un po' di complessità nel retro olfatto, salino. Da attendere qualche anno.
