  • Ruby colour. Still notes of Rhone flavours. Very soft and silky. The tannins, if they are there, are not noticable. A bit too fluffy, maybe, and definitely over the hill.

  • Deep ruby with just a bit of amber at the rim. Really nice old syrah nose with forest floor, bay leaf, black raspberry, truffle and tapenade. Fruit is fading a bit but still holds on here. Polished tannins and delicious, earthy flavors. The finish shows a nice violet tone and just a bit of acidity peaking through. Drink in the next year or two. Another nice surprise!

  • Deep true ruby color with just a bit of bricking at the rim. Really pretty elegant nose of crushed olives, violets, lavender, cassis, baked plums, leather and powdered granite. Textbook N. Rhone syrah. Medium bodied, sliky and elegant with coffee, black fruits, aged meat and mineral flavors. Tannins are all silk. The acids are fresh and juicy and the finish is long and complicated. Like roasted figs wrapped in bacon with cracked pepper. This was really special and a complete surprise as I expected it to be good but not this good. Lucky to have three more to work through...but no need to hurry.
