  Wow! On the nose this wine is subtle, ethereal, and beautiful. There’s smoked meat, cured prosciutto, fresh flowers, black pepper, vanilla bean, blackberry, roasted tomato, and herb de Provence. To the taste there’s enormous complexity and structure. Great acidity and elegant tannins are followed by delicious blackberry, boysenberry and raspberry fruit, strong earthy tones of wet dirt. The spicy component is typical to Syrah and one of the best aspects of this wine. I cannot fathom how this wine will taste in 10-15 years. I rated this a 94 with an expected final score (in the aforementioned timeframe) of 96+. Big fan! drink date: 2025-2040. Overall: 93
