  • Very delicious grassy smooth...every thing I like in Sauvignon blanc

  • Nice creaminess, kind of a new rubber on the nose. Grapefruit peel without the bitterness, and lemon and honey on the nose. Creaminess, vanilla, orange and creme or cremesicle type flavors. Very tasty flavors. I really like this wine.

COLOR: Brilliant as the sun on a cloudless sunset.
NOTE: This is on par with my favorite SBs from Merry Edwards. If you like cat pee in your SB then this is NOT for you. No "fresh cut grass" or "hay" or any of that crap either. Just pure, clean, crisp, ripe white pit fruits and tropical fruits from nose to finish. Take your pick: white Saturn peach, pineapple, white plum, lemon, lime, .... This is one of those wines that I thought might not stand up to my initial impressions in the tasting room. Instead, it exceeded them. And this wine is basically a "left-over" of vineyard space where other varietals refuse to grow. Great use of that space Darioush! And I only expected to be enthralled by your Viognier! There's a lovely creamy component that underlies the nose/mouth/finish that just makes this something special. I know it wasn't highly rated, but this is up there in my book. I wasn't even looking for another SB to light my fire as I'd already settled on Merry Edwards after several vintages. What a pleasant find. I hope others enjoy it as much as I do.

  • Napa Valley Wine and Food Excursion 2013; 9/30/2013-10/5/2013 (Napa Valley, California): This wine is a blend of 95% Sauvignon Blanc and 5% Sémillon. Pale yellow in color, it certainly is not pale in flavor or crispness. Aromas of kiwi, white peaches, melon and lemongrass adorn the nose. On the palate, similar flavors are nicely supported by fresh acidity in a light-bodied frame. Although this wine does see some oak in vinification, its influence is subtle and there is no masking of the beautiful fruit. The flavors build nicely in the middle and the finish is both lengthy and juicy. This is an outstanding quality Sauvignon Blanc worth the search. Drink now-2016.
