  this is much better on day 2. Day 1 it reads like an amarone in need of serious air.

  Meaty whiff of jamón. Such a beastly start, followed by a blend of chocolate, oak, perhaps a hint of smoky ash. An acidity that that rivals a similar presence in many other high quality Spanish wines, such as La Rioja Alta 890 and Vega Sicilia Unico. Yet another reason not to open up these flagship wines until 20+ years post bottling. Paired with duck papardelle and lobster raviolis. @Francie

  Still so young with decades left; dense, massive and concentrated but with little astringency in the tannins & excellent balance and this has the potential to be a wonderful wine when all the parts have integrated
