Savory salty sour cherry aromas with smoked cedar , old leather and red plums. Delicious. Took an hour to open up then it was great for the next hour. Great wine and drinking well now

Cellar cleaning of older "house wines" stored away in a corner and almost forgotten. Finished of my old Il Sasso bottles from a forgotten vertical case. Final bottle and newest vintage. This has kept up much better than the not so good 2009 version. Fully mature nose, herbs, leather, spices. Oak has been devoured. Cherries, licorice with fine grainy tannins. This is a good everyday Tuscan blend from a good producer. No point in cellaring this, just drink it when you buy it.

This has really improved with some cellar time. Still youthful fruit but with enough maturity to give it another dimension. Cherries mixed with blackcurrant and some red fruit.

Nose with bright red cherries and red currants, some chocolate, leather, herbs, licorice and red dust. Palate is somewhat a bit hot and alcoholic for a start, but leveled out with some extra aeration. Cherries and spices, wood and a touch of chocolate on the palate too. Once it settles a bit it reveals more of pleasant ripe fruits, mainly Tuscan cherries, with good length and acidity on the finish. A nice Tuscan everyday wine, that pairs very well with pasta dishes and Italian pizza. In a good drinking spot now as I can’t see this improve very much from here.
