Crimson black core, light hue. Sweet spice, red and black berries. Mulberries, plum, pepper, old cedar, still fresh and sweet aroma. On the palate, sweet plum, persistent dusty tannin. Full bodied, long finish. Well balanced. Still many years ahead of it.

Blind Tasting Australian Shiraz (Taylor's wines, Alexandria): Bacon fat, savoury, black pepper, meaty, gamey, slightly reductive, muted fruit, alcohol prickle, leather, tertiary notes. Medium plus intensity acidity, red and black fruit, slightly sharp, tight, chalky, slightly peppery tannins, alcohol warmth on the finish rather dominates. Nah.

Medium ruby through the core, with a lighter crimson shade out to the edge. Nutmeg and vanilla spice join an assortment of black and red berries and cherries. Right on point for medium body. This has loads of acidity bringing a sour edge to the spicy fruit. The palate brings the addition of plums, adding further interest to the mix. This has an elegance and a velvety feel that belies its underlying power. The tannins are so fine they're almost Pinot Noir like. A lively fresh and vibrant finish confirms its youthfulness and cellaring potential. Enjoy immediately, or hold for longer, either way you can't go wrong with this one.Very impressive indeed.

A bit pinot like. Palate is fresh and fruity with good length.
