  • I didn't have high hopes for this, as an eight year-old village level wine, but I was happily proved wrong and this was very fresh and vibrant. There's a savory, smoky, reductive quality that overrides the whole of this wine, but there is ample fruit and acid to keep this all in balance. It is limited in terms of overall complexity, but it is what you should expect from its classification. Drink now, but I didn't feel like this was on the cusp of falling apart.

  • Nicer and more expressive than the previous bottles tasted - perhaps it just needed a bit more time?

  • Light reductive notes, mostly on the nose, add an overall savory component to the wine. The fruit takes on more of a yellow apple and lemon tone, but it is buffered by some creamier, although not at all buttery, malo notes and grounded by a good dose of minerality, particularly on the finish. This very much reads like a well made Village level wine, that is very well balanced, but generally lacks the complexity and general intensity that you would expect from a Premiere Cru. The finish is also on the shorter side. Questionable value. Zero signs of premox and I think this still could have several good years left in it, although caution leads me to put this in the "drink now" camp.

  • Nice, quite complex already, fruity and delicate. Seems to be going quite strong - I'm wondering if it might improve with a bit more time in bottle.

  • Quite full and broad, herby, a touch bitter, tastes of preserved lemons. Very pleasant wine although perhaps lacks finesse a bit?
