Very impressive and well-rounded Petite Sirah. I'm both a Jaffurs and Thompson Vineyard fan, and this wine did not disappoint. It is very dark and intense with an expressive nose and a ripe, yet balanced palate, with a long finish. Deep, dark fruit is complimented by great spice elements. It's on the edge of extreme ripeness, but everything was in the right place and while it did well with dinner, the true perfection was with dark chocolate hazelnuts for dessert. Sad that this was my last bottle, because it could easily go another 3-5 years.

Dark ruby. Damsons, plums, vanilla nose. Full bodied, well balanced tannins, long finish. Dark fruits, liquorice, earthy palate. Superb wine. I think this will drink well for another 5 years. Sadly the last bottle of a case purchased in 2014.

Popped and poured. This is a dark-purple wine that stains everything. The nose brings blackberry, bramble bush, a touch of heat, and asphalt. The mouth is fruity, chewy, and dense, with a long finish with a dark load of fruit. Overall, this wine seems dormant or in an off phase. I suspect it may improve with some time. 88 points.

Alcohol and grape/blackberry on the nose. Very fruit forward with a heavy dose of blackberry jam on the palate. Straight forward wine without much complexity and no mid-palate. Medium plus tannins and high acidity with a long fruity finish. If you enjoy wines that focus on a fruit forward palate, this wine is for you. It is a great expression of this style with good structure, but a minimum of mouthfeel. Drank this with a coffee/chili rubbed prime rib steak... a little too fruity for a perfect pairing, but not bad. This is in its drinking window now. I would say 2017-2020.

2-3 years since last tasted and still drinking beautifully. Full bodied, smooth and I still think this has 5+ years of life.
