Dark garnet color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of thatch, Briar patch, smoke and black berries. Flavors of blueberries, black berries and a hint of bitters on the finish. Medium acidity, medium to firm tannin, medium to full bodied. Drink or hold.
My guess was this is a 2009 Washington State Red Blend. Not too bad of a guess considering both are northern, cooler climate reds.

Wine of the night. Earthy, honest, lengthy. Light spice. A big hit with a less-than-egg heady group. Impressed.
