13.5% ABV. Pale gold appearance. Aired out in glass for 45 min.
On the nose, this explodes with bruised apple, white peach, lemon curd, honeysuckle, white pepper, marzipan, vanilla, and wet stone. I really enjoy the spice and mineral character this shows. A mouth-coating and sappy mid-palate continues on into a relentless finish. Good level of acidity and just enough to hold the weight of this all together.
As with most Batards, elegance takes a back seat to muscle and authority here - this wine is loud and has nothing to hide. Open for business now but will age easily and should develop even more complexity. Outstanding effort from Jadot.

Very good showing. Rich and giving yet still seemingly youthful and bright. A creamy lemon chiffon character offered up real pleasure and yet this also stays regal and serious. Excellent fruit weight offset by a bright solid frame. Drink or hold.

Bright clear medium dark yellow; Still some reduction notes on the nose, but wafts up delicate white flowers, sort of perfumey, clean limestone-like minerals here (reductive style as compared to maybe a more oxidative style in the Pernot?). Silky, rich and slightly oily but bright and plenty of lift, huge concentration, super long long tangy lovely finish. Amazing. Oo Toro in Walnut.

Wally's: Caramel, apple-quince notes, a hint of raw hazelnut, elegant, big mineral finish; impeccably balanced.

Day Three in Burgundy: Rousseau, Marchand, Dugat, Jadot (Cote d'Or): Barrel tasting at domaine. Ripe and fat stone and orchard fruit aromas, lush and spicy. Dense and powerful start-to-finish, then just a bit reticent on finish.
