Wonderful cherries + plum nose. Smooth texture with chalky/earthy notes. Color is a nice red-brown that intrigues and entices you to try yet another sip. Unlike any other California pinot that I've had.

This is in my World the best new Pinot in California - a real Grand Cru. I have always thought it had a resemblance to the DRC RSV but I had never tried them agaisnt each other. Said and done - blind of course - and wow did the La Cote impress. Both got the same treatment - decanted for 2 hours. This wine has a nose that goes on and on. Lacks perhaps some of the minerality that you get in the 2007 DRC RSV but wow was it close. Most were in Bourgogne to start with although at the end of it the wine was nailed. There is a substantial price difference and I really hope that Rajat Parr and Sashi Moorman can keep the price of their brilliant wines at this level but doubt it as more and more people discover this Grand Cru. Nevertheless a decent flight of Pinots :)

Very well-made. Silky texture, earthy character, and lift. Excellent, though not my preferred California pinot.

Fully mature and Burgundian in style. Like it but think the 2012 is showing better and more complex right now.
