On the nose I get river rocks, lemon, and pineapple. The palate is like a slip and slide with the juicy entry giving way to a rich midpalate redolent of nuts and green apples, and finishing with gripping acidity showing more citrus and talc. This wine lacks the heft of the 2012 Richard's I had last year but is still one of the finest OR chards I've had to date. I think Marcus may actually be more skilled with whites than his reds. Definitely tons of gas on the tank on this one, still a baby.

A bit of tropical fruit, along with a creamy citrus quality buffered by decent acidity. It's pretty good even if not quite my style (would like to see a bit more raciness), but seems a bid muddled right now.

I had this over two nights. At the moment this is not in a very interesting place. Kind of disjointed and brash. Racy acidity. Based on tasting this last February and the pedigree of Matello's white wines, I believe this wine will even out. I will leave my other bottle for 4 or 5 more years.
Low oak, only medium to low acid, and white fruits, pear and apple come to mind. Drinking well for the age. I dont think its his best effort for the vintage, but a great one to drink now. May go 2-5 more years.

Solid but showing some age and not as deep/bright as the current incarnations of this wine.
