Once again I'm surprised at the low scores here. This bottle was absolutely pristine and showing very well. There is some new oak here but it's well integrated and relevant. Merlot dominated with a dollop of Cab and Cab Franc. Deep ruby in the glass with the merest hint of bricking at the rim. Blackberry, mushroom, forest floor, blackcurrant, woodsmoke, vanilla pod and a touch of cedar jump from the glass following a quick swirl. The palate is rich and totally defined by sweet dark fruit along with earthy notes, a touch of liquorice and utterly silky tannins. 15% alcohol but honestly it's so well balanced you would never know it. Drinking beautifully. A cracking glass of modern BDX from one of the more obscure appellations / estates.

My Grade: VG+. Dark mauve in glass with cherry rim, lively, complex nose of cassis, cherry cola, toasted oak, menthol, tar. Just as lively and racy on the palate: medium bodied, bright black and red fruit, dark chocolate, lead pencil, juicy acidity, slightly frissante, delicious, but somewhat short finish. Too young, try again in 4 years.

too much barrel, high tannins, no real character.

A short finish remains but this dark as ink wine has ripened well with tobacco and plum taste from a medium body.
