  • Popped and poured slightly chilled. Dominated by hauntingly beautiful red cherry-laden fruit, the nose also offers notes of Christmas spice, minerals and very well-handled oak. Surprisingly fleshy and mouthfilling on the palate with majestic acidity and rich, savory fruit. Bone dry with little to no fat, this is quite linear and streamlined. Not a shy one at all, finishing quite powerfully and spicy. What I love most about it is its freshness, energy and grip. Well, also the convincingly firm mouthfeel. Quite a complete effort, leaving a very clean aftertaste.

  • Pleasant. A bit dilute but clean. Good for what it is, and the vintage.

  • Just OK. Good, pleasant, clean. Would expect just a bit more. Nice Oregon Pinot is what I thought. Light, vanilla, varietal spice which is characteristic of Volnay but not a lot more for the price. I'd buy New World Pinot here. Not bad though. $40 retail.
