Yellow. Spice and toast on the nose. Strong vanillin base pretty much kills any fruit. This is a St. Aubin vinified like a Cote de Beaune Grand Cru, and there is just not enough substance for all that wood.

Range of 2011 Marc Colin Wines (SF Wine Trading Company): Lighter yellow. Purer nose less encumbered by wood than Les Combes. Lovely creamy, leesiness, middle weight. Much less wood influence, lower but adequate acidity, more seamless feel than the other St. Aubin. My favorite of the whites and very good for the commune, although not at the magical level of Pierre-Yves Colin's wines.

Nice Bourgogne but is not my style, I enjoyed it but I prefer other producers even if this one was not with a predominant wood wine

Nice acidity and full bodied but unfortunately for me the wood frame is still too much present

Vanilla nose, lots of wood here on the palate, see if this tones down over the next couple years. Leave alone for a while
