Oxidized! A bottle consumed in 2006 was fine but looking back at the TNs this exported wine must have gotten baked somewhere along the way. Sams (Now Binnys)? Importer?

Opened my last bottle of the Montceau last night - and though it was drinking nicely, I think it still could have used another year. Very chiseled with lots of apple, chalk and mineral. Though it will not be as good as the other St. Aubins (Charmois or Sentiers du Clou), still a very satisfying white burgundy (and no signs of oxidation to boot)

Guess what - another oxidized Colin St. Aubin 2002. Something really must have gone terribly wrong here. In total my rate is about half the bottles (from different sources) were oxidized. Improved with freshly prepared bisulfite solution, but the wine really "ate" quite a lot of sulfur befor the nose and taste improved and the sweet hay, caramelly notes disappeared. In the end, it was drinkable but no more than that.

Easter dinner -- no notes taken. What a refreshing change of pace after the last bottle, which was corked. This was fresh and lively. Everything you want in a St. Aubin.

Oxidized. Of the three bottles I bought, one was terrific, one was corked, and this one was oxidized. Geez!
