The nose has very nice signs of maturity with forest floor and mushroom over roasted blackberry. The palate is still fresh and light with easy acidity, lean red cherry and cranberry, and only subtle tannins. The highlight for me was the maturity on the nose, while the palate was just very pleasant, but not complex. Interestingly, the color is still garnet with no obvious bricking.

Blind Wine Industry Guys (Eric's House, Hong Kong): Served blind. Transparent ruby jewel colour. Nose is rich strawberry, quite perfumed. Palate is very mineral in a volcanic way. Etna for sure. Very little oak. Unexpected elegance due to its 12.5% alcohol. I'd like to try this again in a less hectic setting. It has quite a few years ahead of it still, I think.

Garagiste Mystery Box. Was being served a Tunisian chicken dish, so found a wine in the cellar from as close to Tunisia as I had! A bright, food friendly Nero. Well balanced, engaging. Purple fruit core, but deft on the palate. A crowd pleaser. Doing very nicely at this stage, could last longer but no need to wait.

Stunner of a Nero. 12,5% alcohol and so well balanced. Mid-weight and everything in it's place.
