I took my last two bottles to a local tasting among friends of German Rieslings to see what the concensus was about this wine, ten years on should be enough for any wine to make or break.
It had a mixed reception, some thought it wonderful, but I often wonder if the label on occasions with all wines raises expectations, who knows. Anyway for me nothing had changed and my previous notes stand, just not for me, it wasn't a bad vintage though nothing special, a poor batch?

Splash decant, served blind; I guessed 2017, fwiw. Seriously focused, with the fruit beginning to more fully emerge by the third glass. A small glass on day two was much more complete. Rather brilliant stuff. HOLD. highly recommended
No change from previous bottles still tight after 8 years !maybe it is just a style I do not appreciate, its all there just doesn't do it for me me, I will leave my last two bottles for another year or so in hope.

Minerality, ripe Stonefruits, Lemon-tarte, Strawberry-yoghurt and much more... what a fascinating Riesling nose, made by the biodynamic pioneer Clemens Busch! 👌🏻 On the palate with a nice structure but rather simple and short. Nevertheless, a GG as you expect and ready to enjoy. BoW 18/20

A year on since my last bottle, still tight still a bit tart and still little length to it, feel it is moving in the right direction but how far will it go and how long to get there, in my case talk of another ten years probably means I will never make it to that mature moment, but I am still not totally convinced with this wine, maybe it is me.
