Beaune & Savigny (Soif, Clapham): Ripe and semi exotic on the nose. Apple, custard apple and something fresher and zingier too. Lots of texture and grip on the palate. Far larger framed than the nose suggests. Oodles of extract. Chewy. This is really quite impressive. ***1/2

Superbly fresh and lively, with great citrus and pear notes along with red apple skin, chalky minerality, and hardly any oak. I think this will only get better, but even now it's in a super place.

Wonderful stuff. Pours a pale gold with green flecks. Plenty of citrus - Meyer lemon - starts things before balancing out with green apple, barrel, and hints of pie crust. As the wine warms up and opens, wet stone and subtle aromas of green pear come out. Wonderfully vibrant acidity, ripe fruit, and intelligent use of oak create a seamless, textural experience. I really enjoyed the length and concentration of this wine as it warmed up. Probably a bit young but it just tasted so fresh and wonderful that I couldn't stop sipping it.

The 2012 Le Grappin Savigny-lès-Beaune is yellow medium (-) in colour with a nose of fresh zesty limes, slight woodiness, lemons and slight kumquats. On the palate, the wine displays a slight woodiness with fresh zesty lime, calamansi almost and kumquats. There's a lively acidity that powers the wine to for a medium finish. Acidity provided a good grip in the wine, creating more than some structure but also some good style and balance.
Very good value from a small producer in Savigny les Beaune. Commendable effort indeed!

No formal note but this was pleasant enough with lightly honeyed apple fruit, fresh acidity and a medium/good length finish.
