Slightly smokey and floral nose. Nice tar and floral palate with dark fruits and wood/oak. Less smokey/spicy on palate v Rosso's 2009 Barolo Serra. Deep and rich. Nice acidity and balance.

Appearance: Bright and clear, the wine is of light ruby colour, with garnet rims and legs. Nose: Clean, with medium intensity aromas of red fruit of sour cherry and raspberry, floral notes of violet, mineral notes of earth, sweet spice of thyme, oak notes of toast, kernel notes of chocolate. The wine is developing. Palate: Dry with medium (+) acidity, the wine has medium tannin of ripe and velvety texture, medium (+) alcohol, with medium (-) body and medium (+) intensity flavours of red fruit of plum and cherry, pungent spice of pepper, sweet spice of clove, floral notes of violet. The wine has a medium (+) finish. Conclusion: Very good quality Barolo with a reasonably intense nose showing decent complexity of aromas, with good red fruit and nice wild herb notes, the wine has good acidity, vibrant and harmonious, showing good concentration of flavours and a long finish. It is ready to drink now and can further develop for another 4-6 years.

Decanted the wine for 11 hours - was definetely worth the wait. Nice complexity with cherry flavours, cloves, white pepper and also some raisin like flavours. Tannins very smooth. Very nice wine, paired perfectly well to a medium-rare tenderloin steak.

Vidunderlig nå. Dekantert et par timer, holdt på 16 grader. Klassisk Nebiolo-frukt, diskret syre, vennligsinna tanniner. Hvorfor vente?
