Very bitter and closed off upon opening, gave it a quick decant and about an 1.5 hours and dramatic improvement. Even after that, still very primary and forward to me.

At first, I was surprised by the vanilla oak notes and sweet fruit - as it opened it got better, with some leather notes and some depth to the wine. Still, it is a very modern take on Barbaresco but in a nice way.

Reviewing 2010 Barbaresco (Miraflores de la Sierra - Madrid): Complicated to define. It's like an evolution of the Barbaresco style. On the one hand the aromas, instead of being elegant, are overwhelming with spilled notes of lactic, of plum yogurt, of sweet spices. On the other hand the palate is exaggeratedly voluminous, dense "to drink" with knife and fork and tremendous tannins. That said, people loved it.

This bottle was not as good Took ages to open up, and main impression was acidic

Rather monolithic. Maybe more time would help.
