  • 70 year old vines from Tierra de Castilla y León, whole cluster, 16 months in 500-3000 L used French oak barrels, 100% Garnacha.
Dark fruit such as black currant and blackberry, very cool and fresh, juicy if you will. Lots of rocks but also herbs and liquorice. Elegant and packed with finesse and minerality.
Good acidity, a tiny bit polished by the time in bottle but very much still a young and energetic wine. menthol, green fresh herbs, notes of stem, salt and liquorice. A bit of pepper in the aftertaste could be mistaken for alcohol but imo it adds character and complexity. The balance is striking and the whole clusters never takes over in a green or harsch way. Long aftertaste. I like this a lot now but it will most likely grow in every aspect for those who cellar for 5 years +.
