Rob comes to London (67 Pall Mall): Couldn't really ask for me from this. Dainty, lifted nose, with some truffle and a touch of vanilla. Intensely juicy on the palate, full of red fruit, slightly sweet like a blueberry cheesecake, and still a touch of tannin. Felt like prime time - totally delicious.

Muted nose, not much going on here, a bit of sour cherry, earthy aromas. The palate is surprisingly lean, good tannins and not much fruit. Not a bad wine but a major under-performance for a Grand Cru Burgundy of this vineyard and again a reminder how much Burgundy is a minefield when it comes to QPR. I just looked at my past scores and noticed that I never had a decent wine from this producer. Caveat emptor with Roche Bellene.

MASTER BORGOGNA AIS; 10/15/2013-6/28/2014 (HOTEL WESTIN PALACE MILANO): Bursting young fruity and floral nose. Typical of Griotte. It needs air to unleash a flesh of red fruit jelly and balsamic notes. Extremely elegant and feminine, lacking the robust fruit and earthy notes typical of Gevrey. Salty and mineral for a 2011 and really too young, but it's gonna be great stuff in a few years.
Naso inebriante e ruffiano.
