Possibly a little late with this one. Looking slightly rusty in the glass. Nose is subtle - cherries and cranberries plus rose petals with a gamey edge. Fruits aren't quite as forward in the palate. There's a green, stalky, spicy element in the middle. Finish is medium and what there is of the fruits hang around for a while. It is opening up, even as I write this, so my opinion is gradually improving with it. Glad I have a '13 to compare.

Taste of Tasmania 15/16 (Hobart, Tasmania): {screwcap, A$34} Smoke and light cherries on the nose. It’s light-bodied in this tricky vintage, with gently gritty tannins, little oak, pure cherry fruit with no rot. Fair wine, released a point

Taste of Tasmania 12/13 (Hobart, Tasmania): {screwcap, 13.5%, A$24} Sour, starchy dry cherries. Light-bodied, and nicely dry. Medium acidity helps. Chill a little and overlook the short-ish finish. Meh.

Tasmania Unbottled: Strawberry and raspberry are lightly on the nose. The palate is a little thin but otherwise okay.
