Yum, mature merlot based IGT. Barnyard upon opening and ready for business. Very much structured with firm tannins but all balanced by acidity to go with Italian fare. Enjoyed by all. This was my last, purchased years ago when WTSO offered interesting wines.
This wine was surprisingly unique and tasty. The petite verdot layers into the Sangiovese so nicely - maybe the first time I've tasted that mix. Deeper color and heavier than 100% Sangiovese, but petit verdot cuts the Sangiovese acid nicely gives it a nice pencil-lead finish.

Also drinking very well with our homemade brick oven pizza. No danger of fading in the next year or two...

Some dried fruit and fig but not sweet. Hint of leather and tannin on the finish. Time to drink.
