  • Kort dekantering.

  • Really lovely, long life ahead, elegance and power, spicy with well defined fruit.

  • 7 years after my last tasting, and it's finally ready. Lovely now, but will likely further improve for years to come.

  • 100% Sangiovese de-stemmed, fermented and macerated in stainless steel for 14-16 days. Aged 12-16 months in Slavonian oak barrels and a small part in French oak barrels of second and third use. 14% vol.

PnP and enjoyed over two days, stored at room temperature without any inert gas.

Typical Sangiovese Riserva with prune, sour cherries and just a suggestion of forest floor and fresh moss, still very youthful and fresh, medium to full bodied, still present tannin, long pleasant finish. Not a big difference on day two, perhaps a bit more towards sour cherries and everything is just a tad better, more focused, more harmonious.

Very classic Riserva, in a good shape now but with still many years ahead, if drinking now, a long decant is highly recommended. A clear re-buy for this fair priced Riserva, 92+.
