  • 275 Cases: Opened and poured first glasses, approached after about an hour in the glass and decided against any further decant. Wine is still dense plum coloring in the middle with burnt ruby edges in the glass. Forthcoming nose of strawberry and tart raspberry with further dark ripe blueberry and blackberry jam. Secondary tobacco, vanilla, cigar drying barn and a touch of wood/cedar join the aromas as well. Fruit continues on to the palate, but starts to take a back seat to more of the cigar/tobacco with touches of toasted oak, sweet vanilla and chocolate. The fruit flavors are more mature on the palate than the nose would suggest. Texture is towards full bodied, but has a certain milkiness to have you chew on. Tannins are still ready for years ahead, but influences are nicely integrated at this point. By the end of the night the finish was getting pretty earthy with very dark chocolate taking more focus in the mixed berry jam. Wine Making Note: 25 months in 40% French, 30% Hungarian and 30% American Oak.

  • Burnt ruby edges
Nose: mature dark fruits, blackberry and blueberry jam, old leather, Boisenberry,

Very nice light milky body and a dry tobacco cigar finish that has a bit of spice to it with a very dark chocolate ending that leaves you kinda chewing on it. Pretty earthy, wet minerals and old toasted wood that you are left kind of chewing on.

Tannin is very much still there and not subtle at all. There is also a distinct red fruit influence like green strawberry and tart cherry at the front.

    Burnt toast mixed berry jam.

This is after 40 min decant I’m gonna go hit some golf balls and see if we can get something different when it has more time to open.

Not too much different just softened the edges a bit. A little more mint.

It is a good merlot, but idk if I want it again for this price

  • Decanted and consumed over the next 3 hours. Still green and tight and obviously required more cellar time. Will revisit in 2021.
