This was immediately recognizable as nebbiolo, though hotter and riper than any I've had before. Not mistakable for an old world wine. Longer finish than last time but after an hour the sweetness gets to me.

More balanced than the Sangiovese and Negroamaro today. Clocks in at 14.8% and feels a touch hot but not overly sweet or extracted as the above-mentioned bottles had been. Rich red fruits, some oak still in the process of integration, notes of tobacco and fresh fennel, slightly earthy in a wonderful way that gives a sense of old world to what is a fairly new world wine. Only moderate acidity and a medium finish that ends up somewhat dry are the only detractors to this wine that exhibits a lot of depth and character. A very phenolically ripe wine with complex organic aromas. This has bones to lay down for a while

Very good wine, sweet on palate initially with strong tobacco leaf on the finish.

Drank this at 9 years. Significant fruit forward expression of the Nebbiolo grape. Very enjoyable.
