Contrary to previous tasting note this bottle was still delicious. I concur with most of DOUGLEE comments from Feb 2019 on this wine. Bottle was cellared for most of its existence. My last bottle. .

Light colour, really starting to brown, looks over the hill. Initial nose not very enticing. Needs at least 1-2 hours to open up. Changes over time. More sweet than savoury. Typical cherry, slightly stemmy (some whole bunch?), plus a hint of menthol. Well balanced palate with reasonable length that contradicts the colour. Quite enjoyable but need to drink my last few bottles ASAP. Probably worthy of 92-93 points 3 years ago. Interestingly I had tried the 2016 vintage twice in the previous week and it was noticeably deeper colour, quite tight and still years off its peak.

Purchased off the wine list at Deer Lodge, Lake Louise. Popped and poured. Darker ruby. Nose of fresh cut raspberry, black cherry, violets, caramel, earth. After one hour the palate was wide open, with layers of exuberant and satiny red raspberry, Bing cherry, and a bit of rhubarb on display, cut with dark spices and stone. Lots of refreshing acidity and firm but fine-grained tannin. Longer finish of lively red fruit and craggy earth. We kept going back for another sip. Delightful wine all around.

A serious wine, elegant and harmonious. But lacking intensity of aroma and flavour, or any pronounced character. I have enjoyed this more in the past, but on this occasion I find it unimpressive, and a long way from justifying its high price. 13%, screwcap.

Pretty special wine and better than I expected. Lovely balance and mouthfeel. Enticing flavour spectrum of cherry, almond, small hints of caramel and a little deep herbaceousness. Elegant and complete. Had everyone quickly heading back for more - I think that’s a clear sign. Real quality!!! And plenty of life in it yet.
