Initially showing sharp raspberry and slightly pickley acidity, but it settled down after an hour or so into a much more interesting wine. I'd recommend a good long decant.

Rich and ripe nose of cherry and sour plum. Subtle lick of vanilla and green stalkiness. Fruit holding up well, no sign it's fading at 6yrs, but this seems a bit simple for its pricetag? Not too much going on other than very nice primary fruit.

Was better on release. Herbal notes starting to creep in but not really mature by any means. I'd hold off opening for 2-3 more years to let it come together.

Black cherry, sour plum. Subtle fresh herbaceousness on opening but after an hour in the decanter the fresh seemed dimished and replaced by a heavier spice warmth. Acidity doing the work to keep it fresh as there's not much tannin. A high quality example of new world fruit-forward style. Very enjoyable now but the fact that the herbal freshness disappeared in the decanter makes me think this is not one for the super long-term. 5yrs old now and feels like at/past the halfway point. Not falling off a cliff but I'll plan to drink mine by the time it's 8-10.

One of my wines of the year. I have had my eye on the Tolpuddle for a while and it did not disappoint; the aromas are intoxicating. The perfume, the ripe red berries, the nutmeg and baking spices and mushroom and wet forest floor. It's a symphony out of your glass that grows in depth over the course of the bottle. The intensity is what sets this wine apart from other $70-100 Australian Pinots...it's brooding and powerful. Palate is gorgeous with everything working perfectly together. I need another glass.
