  • Tasted from Magnum bottle. Incredibly fresh, spicy minerals, wonderfully ripe flavours of pear, apple skin and roasted nuts. Round, buttery and lush on the palate. Seemed to be at its peak at first, but evolved considerably after 1 hour of exposure to air. This is from a merely medium rated vintage, yet a great wine that shows the potential of these Austrian chardonnays. Since the winery is famous for its gruner veltliners and rieslings the chardonnays are often overlooked -- but I'd prefer this wine to any mediocre Meursault or Chablis.
