  • ‘Buzbağ Rezerv’ is the reincarnation of the once famous Tekel brand, the one that still springs to mind when Turkish wine is mentioned. Staying faithful to the original wine, it is an almost equal blend of Boğazkere and Öküzgözü, albeit aged in mostly new French oak for 24 months (with the exception of 22 months for the 2010 vintage). The grapes are sourced from vineyards in the Elazığ and Diyarbakır areas under long term contract. Kayra also has its own vineyards in the Alpagut Region in Elazığ and possibly some of the grapes are also in this label especially in recent vintages.
Deep, inky ruby with narrow, purple rim. This is the youngest of the pack with opulent mulberry and damson with a touch of raspberry and floral scents all mixed with cinnamon, vanilla and chocolate. Medium palate weight where the strong tannins are better accompanied by the fruit but still end up drying. In balance with the alcohol but in need of a more vivid mouth feel.
