  • This wine seemed incredibly young, full of life, tension and so much freshness. Blind Inwiuld have guessed this to be around 20-30 years at best. It didn‘t had the complexity to get to a higher score but was wonderful to drink. My guess is, that with a long decant, it could have got there as it kept improving in the glass over a few hours. A superb showing.

TN: Expressive and layered bouquet displaying dark red berries, orange rind, menthol and herbal notes. On the palate an additional layer minerality and even more menthol and with time more sweetness. Medium complex but with very good precision. There is a lot of beautiful acidity with the additional support from the strong menthol component. Very harmonious and balanced from start to finish.

  • A negociant bottling lunch: Forest Honey, orange, tea, with the orange and bitter notes this kind of had a "Negroni touch", good acidity medium bodied and gained weight with some air. We didn't decant this, but probably should have.

  • Saturday lunch with Eddie (Masseria, DC): Really opaque color. Noticeable VA and a bit rough. DOA.
