A nice, aged pinot from Willamette Valley's newest AVA: Mount Pisgah (Official AVA status as of July 5, 2022). Color: somewhere in between a medium copper and a medium salmon. Nose: pleasant and complex aromas that start off as cherries, and other red berries, paired with a gravel road and a dusty English bookshop specializing in antiquated works. Violets eventually get folded in along with a baker's workroom - not just baking spices but also a hint of moist dough. Palate surprises with a fresher than expected cherry and raspberry combo. Extremely light-bodied (maybe a bit thin and mellow). Good balance. Medium force finish with good length, which is extended by tart and sour cherries (a touch too tart and sour); I liked it better when I eventually paired it with a pizza. *Amalie Robert Estate founded by Ernie Pink and Dena Drews. They purchased 60 acres of land in 1999 and planted their first 10 acres in 2000. First vintage in 2003. Winery was built in 2006. Currently 35 acres planted to various varietals. *Amalie Robert named after the founder's middle names; they grow their own grapes and make their own wine - this one using whole clusters and at least a year in French oak barrels.

Delicious with lots of life left. Red fruit and spice. Great acidity. Loved every sip.
