  Major ullage set low expectations, and happily the bottle performed far better than could have been expected. The color was quite dark, and the fruit plentiful from the first sip. The wine was actually packed with ripe, round dark fruit quite astonishing for a wine of such age. The aroma was funky at first, but that blew off after a few minutes. It held up flawlessly in the glass, with no degradation even after an hour. Lengthy finish, and just so impressive on so many levels. This wine was an absolute treat, and will be greatly missed.
