Wonderful stuff. Very precise, maybe even what I would even call concise. I don't know if this stood out in any particularly attention-grabbing way- except for the harmony of it all. Simply an absolutely delicious and classic expression of burgundy at a solid price. Immediately aromatic with fresh bing cherries, extremely minerally with damp stone accents, tiny little touches of musty funk that blew off pretty quickly, and a seriously vibrant palate especially given the relatively ripe cherry fruit abundant on the nose. At first I almost felt it was showing a little older than it is with a slightly softened fruit profile and obvious earthiness, but the fruit really took over pretty quickly, still primary in the end. The acidity here is truly intense and lingers on for quite some time in a great way, although it comes a little close to a sort of salty tartness on the very finish. I might even call it predictable, feels like a very buttoned up burgundy from a reliable negociant, which is exactly what it is. Serious, clean, but so good. A strong showing for my first experience with Bouchard. Small caveat is that I got this for just over $60- seems like it's sometimes sells for closer to 80, and for that price I feel it's a 93 at best.

Restaurant price aside this was a decent Pommard. A bit of barnyard on the nose, juicy red fruit, some dark cherry. A bit of candied fruit sweetness as it warms up which detracted but otherowse very enjoyable.

Showing too much wood at the moment, there’s a nice wine underneath. Got it at close out for 20€, good at that price, wouldn’t be thrilled at the normal 35€ tariff

Popped and poured directly from cooling unit. Could have used a decant, and improved as it warmed up a bit. Ruby color. Nose of red currant and a little barnyard. Red fruit on palate, plus some blackberries. Finish is just ok and a little too sweet. Not a bad wine, and I’ll decant my last bottle next time, but not thinking I’ll buy this again at the price.
