A visit to HdV: This was opened out of their library. 90% Merlot. Purple in color, mostly clear and bright. Velvety texture. Lots of cherries. Complex. This is still very youthful although I don't know if it gets much better. Nice finish. Good food wine.

NSMFOW April '09--Promising CA Wineries (The Grapevine, Salem, MA): Purple opaque. Nose of dark fruits, some cassis, oak. Palate of blackberries, some cassis with rich, chocolate undercurrents. Velvety tannins. In a rich CA style. Still primary but may improve. Remarkably, this wine was not in CT.

Grabs your attention right away with vibrant plum and blackberry followed by smooth woody undertones. Gentle touches of cedar, mint, and vanilla.
