My tasting note from 7 years ago is laughable! This wine is only now hitting its stride. Beautifully balanced and still has nice fruit! Great texture and long finish. A real education for me!

Stored in my cellar since purchase. PnP. Nose - Cedar, white pepper, macerated cherry, dried bay leaves, some mineral. Palate - Juicy, generous sweet red fruits but on a lean frame, lip smacking acidity, some licorice, subtle coffee. beckons to return to the glass again and again. Superbly balanced and precise. more pepper spice on the persistent, compelling finish.
Day 2 was equally enjoyable. Fully mature, although does not appear to be fading at all. This is in a perfect place right now. A victory for bottle aged CDP.

2004 Rhone Tasting chez Lillelund (Lilleund's home): Very good structure, good balance, precise and focused. Marked tannins that should soften up with a bit more cellar time. No hurry here. Very good Chateauneuf.

Clean, lean, mineral with an insisting fruit, very good on the first night, still going strong on day 2, classy wine with personality. Will keep.
